Nuwan Thushara, a fast bowler from Sri Lanka, has been told he wo n't play in at least the T20I series against India because he broke a finger in his left during training.

Mahinda Halangoda, the team's boss, confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that the hand damage was a non-bowling one. However, it is significant enough for him to get ruled out. The injuries, according to Halangoda, took place late on Wednesday during Sri Lanka's education. Thushara had been at tackling process.

He is the second fast bowler to remain suspended from the line from Sri Lanka. Only on Wednesday, Sri Lanka announced that Dushmantha Chameera was out with disease, and replaced him with Asitha Fernando. Thushara's substitution has not been named however, but it may be left-armer Dilshan Madushanka.

Thushara had constantly been part of Sri Lanka's T20I XI this time. In the three games Sri Lanka played, he had been one of their best batsmen at the T20 World Cup, taking eight innings. Earlier this year, he had even taken a T20I hat-trick on his approach to numbers of 5 for 20 against Bangladesh.

The second T20I between Sri Lanka and India is scheduled for Saturday.
