A player from outside the United States who does n't register for the mega auction will not be able to register for the following mini auction.
International players who are forced to miss an IPL period after being purchased at an auction without having genuine causes will now face two-year suspensions. That aside, international players ' bid cost keywords will be the "lower of the highest loyalty price"- of INR 18 million ( US$ 2.1 million estimate. ) - or" the highest bid price at the big auction".
As reported by ESPNcricinfo in August, the demand to operate against people opting out after being bought at bids had come from all ten IPL companies during their appointment with the IPL controlling government in July. The franchises ' idea that overseas players be required to file for big auctions has also been accepted by the IPL. The IPL has also made the decision to mandate a "maximum fee" for international people participating in small auctions.
" Any international player's auction fee at smaller auction may be lower of the highest retention price]of INR 18 crore ] or the highest bidding price at the great bid", the IPL said in the report. " In case the highest auction price at big auction is 20 crs]INR 20 crore], then 18 crs]INR 18 crore ] will be the cap. If the highest auction price at big auction is 16 crs]INR 16 crore ] then the cap will be 16 crs]INR 16 crore].
The rule in place going forward is that the auction for the player will continue as normal till the player is sold, and the final auction amount will be charged to the auction purse. The incremental amount over INR 16 or 18 crore, as the case may be, will be deposited with BCCI. The additional funds put toward the welfare of players when they are deposited with BCCI.
