The pitch for the India vs Pakistan activity, where India won by six runs after scoring only 119, has been rated" adequate"
The innings for the first two games of the people's T20 World Cup 2024 held at New York's Nassau County Stadium, as well as the one for the semi-final between Afghanistan and South Africa at the Brian Lara Academy in Tarouba, have been rated "unsatisfactory" by the ICC.
The ruling comes nearly two months after the game, which India won by beating South Africa in the last.
In those two New York matches, no team scored more than 100 points. On June 3, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 77 against South Africa, and Ireland were shot outside for 96 by India two days later.
In the next match, a number of people from the two sides copped knocks on the body as a result of the uneven swing. The ICC rates pitches, and separately outfields, for all international games on a scale of very good to unfit: very good, good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory and unfit. The surface at Providence for the India vs. England semi-final was rated as" satisfactory," and the side's Jamaican Kensington Oval deck was rated as "very good."
The ICC was largely happy with the state of the outfields, with only New York and Guyana receiving" satisfactory" ratings, while the others were "very good".
