Tamim asks about team variety and advocates for improved household batting surfaces.
Bangladesh's two most high-profile bowlers, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, were left disappointed with the team's absence of objective against India in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight activity in Antigua.
Shakib made 11 off seven balls having arrived at the seam in the 12th over with Bangladesh needing 121 plays at 14. 23 per over. He rued the group's lack of struggle in the business end of the game as they made below-par values of 140 for 8 and 146 for 8 against Australia and India both. The Bangladesh best institution's continued poor form has n't improved even on the Antigua pitches where bowling is relatively easier than on most areas in this game. Shakib said that they could n't even present their goal of wanting chasing India's 196 plays in this sport.
" We have a 50 cent win frequency in this World Cup but if we had fought against India and Australia the way we fought against South Africa, we may have called it a great World Cup campaign," Shakib said. " We are short of works as a batting system. We made 140 in the last match, 146 now. We may have done better now since we had a goal in front of us. We could n't even show it to people that we were trying [to chase the target ] today. I do n't think the confidence was there. Throughout the World Cup, we have struggled in this area.
" You have to take your A-game against groups like Australia and India. I think we lacked in skill and strength. We could n't do the basics for longer periods to create pressure. I do n't believe we defended ourselves as a batting unit throughout the World Cup. We can generate significant goes. We were also short of level results like 175-185 in the last two activities, both played on good innings. India may have scored 20 more works now, but we must demonstrate goal right away. I do n't think it was there. "
Tamim, in his ability as an expert for ESPNcricinfo, said after the suit that Bangladesh's absence of objective with the pitcher surprised him against India. "[Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh's captain ] said that he should have finished the game but Bangladesh never got close in this battle. I did n't understand why he would say that. Bangladesh's bowling has disappointed in this whole game. The think-tank must consider where they will go from here.
You can count on your bat line-up to hunt down a total of 160 or 170 when your batters are allowing runs. When you know that your batting is struggling, it surprised me that [Bangladesh ] decided to bowl first. In this sport, a number of their choices have surprised me. Fingers may be pointed. "
Tamim added that the Bangladesh team company's decision to leave out Taskin Ahmed against India, bringing in the more dough in Jaker Ali, left him surprised. Taskin had gone for some works against Australia, but he is the player's vice-captain, and people looked upon as the ball strike head.
" I was very surprised why Taskin did n't play. The spinner each ran numerous times. India once felt a little let down when they lost back-to-back wickets to Tanzim [ Hasan Sakib]. Bangladesh may have attacked India more if Taskin had been a faster bowling. We know about Shivam Dube's short-ball failure. Taskin was quick to employ those strategies against him. "
In addition, Tamim said that Tanzim could have been permitted to carry the new game because he had handled it well in previous matches because of Rohit Sharma's talked-about failure against left-arm speed.
" Everyone is talking about Rohit Sharma having a small failure against left-arm fast ball. It plays on the person's mind when he is taking on a related bowling in the game. Bangladesh had an opportunity to begin with the left-arm bowler, just to have a look. India may have scored 196, but Rohit's launch was extremely important for India. That's how speed comes.
Tantzig performed well in previous encounters with the innovative game. He did n't get the new ball today. Why must you alter somebody else's entire layout when they are doing just fine? "
The primary goal of Dropping Taskin was to strengthen the faltering bat line-up. It has been difficult for a long time, but since coming to North America next month, the top-order has caved against most ball problems. Bangladesh, according to Shakib, has a standard bowling propensity to perform better on difficult wickets than on effective pitches.
" We do n't really do well when we play on flat wickets that produce 180-200 runs," Shakib said. " We play much on innings that produce 130-150 works. That's what we are comfortable with. Our neighborhood batters have n't really chased big runs, aside from one game in BPL this year. It remains our failure. "
Tamim added that the Bangladeshi batters have n't used effective batting positions in a long time. He said that they play on slow and small areas back home where they play most of their cricket, but when they encounter great ones in ICC tournaments, they get caught out hardly knowing what to do.
" Bangladesh [usually ] play in difficult wicket for batters. Additionally, they are unable to begin scoring runs when taking a strong wicket. Even with a strong wicket, you must know how to score runs. You must be aware of your shooting restrictions. A long-term plan, in my opinion, should include Bangladesh playing on good wickets. They do n't get it in Mirpur. "
Tamim said that even their marquee T20 tournament, the Bangladesh Premier League, failed to produce exciting cricket due to the nature of the pitches in the country. He said that the win-first ( at home ) nature of Bangladesh cricket has left the batters in the lurch.
He advised patient with better pitches so that batters can practice and the bowlers can pick up how to bat on good batting surfaces.
BPL is a fantastic tournament, but the crowds were n't so excited about the wickets we got. The last two years, scores have been higher. Teams are chasing 170-180, but we are so result-oriented in Bangladesh. People try to create a spin-friendly track when we have a very good wicket in the first game and lose it. I think not only players and coaches, the board also has to come out of that mentality. Let us lose for another six months, but let's prepare wickets where bowlers and batters can learn. I believe Bangladesh cricket can only go this far. "
