Luggage holds influence over traditional baggage in small return to final

India and South Africa have background of push- out heartbreak, but brief return prevents introspection

While past looms large over the T20 World Cup 2024 last, neither part thinks it will perform much component on the day of the last. This is South Africa's lady last in World Cup cricket, while India have lost in the finishers of all World Cups table one since 2014.

It was said India lost to a emotionally tougher side when they came up against Australia in next year's 50- over last, but India do n't experience that is an advantage they take into the match against South Africa who, going by the trophy case at least, are the team with the least knowledge of the conditions they now find themselves.

" I mean it's not that the same people have been playing since 1991", India's manager Rahul Dravid said. " Many people have left and come," he said. I do n't think that really matters. " People are very good at letting go of stuff," they say. I think only as we will move on from Ahmedabad, I'm confident they will not be thinking about story, and it will be a new day. Two strong groups, South Africa and India, two teams that I believe people will agree are the top two clubs in this game.

Aiden Markram did n't quite agree with Dravid's claim that he could n't speak on behalf of South Africa, especially when questioned about the possibility of his team becoming overwhelmed after overcoming a significant hurdle.

" We were evidently a happy number the other night after qualifying for the last, but it's awesome..." Markram said". I'm convinced all teams do it, but right after that activity in the changing- room, you also reflect and you say, guys, we've also got one more step to come. So, it's not driven by coach or by captain. The entire unit has that feeling and motivation.

" Sportsmen are generally very competitive people, and nobody wants to lose, especially not in a final," he said. So, I think there's no sense that the guys are satisfied regardless of the result tomorrow. I think there's still a massive hunger for us to go out and win tomorrow's game".

It does help both sides that there is hardly any time between matches, and so little time to build the occasion up too much in their minds. Having qualified before India, South Africa had an extra day in hand but it was spent at an airport because of a long delay in flights. When you're squandering your time sat in a corner, whether you're traveling alone or looking after your family, the enormity of the final is the last thing on your mind. Your luggage is probably more important to you than your past.

By the time India checked in at Georgetown Airport to fly to Barbados, the date had either ticked over or was pretty closing to ticking over to the day before the final. Both teams ' efforts have centered on having the right mental plans and looking after their bodies.

" It's just about all the guys getting into ensuring that physically, mentally, tactically we are ready for the game", Dravid said. We can control these things: that we are fresh, that we have taken care of any niggles, that we have done all of our tactical preparation, and that we are mentally rested, excited, and anticipating the game. Those are the things we can control".

South Africa did have an optional training session unlike India, despite not having previously played in Barbados, but the message is the same. Their preparation is centred on the small things rather than reflecting on the bigger picture.

" You get in a competition like this and things move pretty quickly", Markram said. You board a plane, take off, check in at a new hotel, and play your next game of cricket the day afterward. So, I do n't think there's too much reflecting that happens. But it's more the opportunity that we have of being in a final that excites me quite a bit".
