Lee, who has lived in Tasmania entirely since retiring from foreign cricket in 2022-23, was Hurricanes ' leading run-scorer last year with 409 at 37.18 and a strike-rate of 146.07 which included an unbroken 101 against Melbourne Renegades.

Cricket Tasmania's public administrator Salliann Beams was excited about the prospect of Lee and Elyse Villani resuming their combination at the top of the purchase.

She gave us a lot of flexibility with our pre-signing abroad, and it made sense for us to choose a player with the top draft experience who we know will play a key role for us.
