Local cricket in Pakistan will then include three first-class tournaments, two Listing A competitions and three T20 tournaments
The future home period will then begin in September 2024 and end in August 2025, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). According to a Board release, a five-team Champions game may be played across styles in order to "bridge the difference between domestic and international cricket," as reported by ESPNcricinfo in June.
The five clubs- Animals, Lions, Panthers, Stallions and Wolves- will thrive in the Champions One-Day Cup from September 1 to 29, a Champions T20 Cup from December 21 to January 2, and in the Champions Pentagular ( first-class cricket ) from May 28 to August 5.
As a result of these additions, the PCB will now hold three first-class tournaments ( the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and President's Trophy being the others ), two List-A tournaments ( the President's Cup being the other ) and three T20 competitions ( National T20 Cup and the PSL being the others ) taking the count of senior men's matches up from 203 to 261.
" Our present standings- fifth in Tests, fifth in ODIs and eighth in T20Is- do certainly reflect the true possible and lineage of Pakistan cricket", PCB chair Mohsin Naqvi said. " To recover our rightful place at the top of earth cricket, we must develop and strategically improve, increase and enhance our domestic architecture. The introduction of the three Champions games is a strong step in this direction.
The Champions tournaments will combine our centrally-contracted players with our most gifted and constant players, creating a setting that resembles international cricket's intensity.
The Champions games may be played by around 150 of the country's leading people, though specifics of the collection process are yet to be revealed. However, Waqar Younis, the new chair's representative for cricket affairs, who accompanied Naqvi to reveal the competitions, has approved the plans. Younis will be in command of the sport aspect of things within the table, in a wide-ranging part similar to that of Rob Key's at the ECB.
Each of the five groups did have, possibly an user, as well as a mentor. In addition to the normal training employees, there will also be an analyst and a press boss as well. Each team will also have a focused high-performance center in Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Sialkot.
The PCB has even raised the contracts for local people with PKR 550, 000 for Category 1, PKR 400, 000 for Category 2 and PKR 250, 000 for Category 3. The arrangements in 2023-24 that were offered were PKR 300, 000 for Category A+, PKR 200, 000 for Category A, PKR 185, 000 for Category B, PKR170, 000 for Category C, PKR150, 000 for Category D, PKR100, 000 for Category E, and PKR50, 000 for Category F.
