Thorpe had experience in training before becoming severely ill in 2022.
Graham Thorpe, the former England and Surrey dough, has died aged 55, the ECB has announced.
Thorpe, who played 100 Testing for England between 1993 and 2005 and went on to work as batting coach for the older people's team, was taken" really poor" in 2022, soon after being named as Afghanistan's head coach.
During his playing job, Thorpe scored 6744 Test works, with 16 lots, and was also capped 82 days in one-day tournaments. He played for Surrey between 1988 and 2005, scoring nearly 20, 000 works for the state.
' ' It is with great grief that we share the news that Graham Thorpe, MBE, has passed apart," the ECB said in a declaration.' The profound shock we experience after learning about Graham's passing does n't seem to have any words.
' ' More than one of England's finest-ever pitchers, he was a favorite part of the cricket community and revered by fans all over the world. His talent was unquestioned, and his talents and achievements across a 13-year foreign occupation brought so much pleasure to his teammates and England and Surrey CCC supporters everywhere. Eventually, he helped the best England Men's skills achieve some amazing victories in all match types as a coach.

Thorpe joined the ECB in 2010 as head batting coach, and was part of the backdoor team that oversaw England's 2019 Men's World Cup victory. Although he was one of the training team members who left after the 2021-22 Ashes, he continued to work as Chris Silverwood's associate coach.
He had been expected to take command of Afghanistan, after being appointed in March 2022, but was unable to accomplish the position.
After Thorpe was hospitalised in May of that year, England's recently appointed Test captain Ben Stokes wore a shirt with Thorpe's title and England seal number on the back for the shove at his first match in command, against New Zealand at Lord's.
Oli Slipper, Surrey's head said:" Graham is one of the fantastic sons of Surrey and there is an overwhelming sadness that he will not walk through the walls of the Oval again. He wore the Three Wings and the Three Lions, a tale of Surrey, and he was a great addition to the team.
" He made outstanding contributions to the team as a cricketer, and as a person, and he will be so severely missed".
Steve Elworthy, Surrey chief executive, added:" All associated with the team is devastated by the dreadful news of Graham's moving. He achieved extraordinary deeds for club and country and was a warrior to so many cricket fans.
Our emotions and condolences go out to Graham's family and friends, who we will help whenever we can. We ask that anyone respects the protection of the household at this very difficult time."
Thorpe, who was a strong, counterattacking batter, made his 1993 Trent Bridge album against Australia and scored a century. He went on to become one England's leading Test pitchers during the 1990s and shortly 2000s, as well as a credible one-day accumulation who featured at the 1996 and 1999 World Cups.
His breakthrough season came in the winter of 2000-2001 when England won wonderful series victories in Pakistan and Sri Lanka thanks to hundreds of fans in Lahore and Colombo. Twelve months afterward, he scored an unbroken double-hundred from simply 231 balloons to set up success in Christchurch.
But, after touring with England for 10 consecutive seasons, the collapse of Thorpe's relationship in 2002 led to him retiring from ODIs and taking an endless break from the sport. After missing the Test team for more than a year, he made a comeback to score a decade at his home stadium, The Oval, to seal a line that was drawn.
His last England look was the situation of his 100th cover, against Bangladesh at Chester-le-Street, with the introduction of Kevin Pietersen leading to Thorpe being dropped for the 2005 Ashes.
