The left-arm spin was unable to re-enroll for the T20 World Cup after losing her location earlier this year.
After being dropped from a World Cup squad for the first time in a long time, Jessica Jonassen has had a chance to make her way up to the Australia team.
Despite having 105 T20Is to her name, the writing was on the walls for Jonassen when she was left out of the club to visit Bangladesh earlier this year and it was always going to be difficult to find her way again in amid a solid roll party that features Georgia Wareham, Sophie Molineux, Alana King and Ash Gardner.
Jonassen has only previously missed a World Cup appearance because of an injury that occurred in the 2013 ODI model.
After a number of injury-hit seasons, Molineux ' return to fitness, along with the selectors ' preference for two legspinners, was a significant factor in forcing Jonassen to leave. She was placed in the T20I team last summer after Hayley Matthews harshly punished her at North Sydney Oval. She has n't played an ODI since July 2012 in Ireland.
In addition to a stellar Hundred campaign that resulted in 12 wickets and 176 operates for Welsh Fire, Jonassen is now playing for Trinbago Knight Riders in the WCPL while playing for Delhi Capitals in seven games earlier this year.

" You look at her career and how it's progressed, particularly over the past five or six years, she's been in the squad, out of the squad, her and Sophie Molineux have sort of]gone ] tit-for-tat along the way.

I have played a lot of cricket with her over the centuries and understand exactly what she can contribute to the Asian team in big tournaments and how brake she may be. I also see a great potential for her in the Aussie area, there's always a wrinkle or whatnot around ]during ] the summertime, and she'll still be around this summer no question."
Rachael Haynes and Meg Lanning have retired, but a top base of Healy, Gardner, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, and Megan Schutt remain as a result of Jonassen's presence. This is another simple development of the Australia side over the past few years.
Substitutes have been close to hand because of the degree in Australian cricket, and they are now starting to fill a bigger role in the area. There is also a possibility that Australia was area the rate trio of Darcie Brown and Tayla Vlaeminck in an XI together for the first day, either in the three-match T20I set against New Zealand in September, which provides preparation for the World Cup, or the tournament itself, although that will be dictated by conditions in the UAE.
Even if it does n't happen over the next couple of months, it's an enticing prospect for the Ashes, which will take place in January.
" I'd love to see it," Healy said of the two playing together". We are so blessed with ample allrounders that I think we can play around a little bit with our fast-bowling attack. Think having those two in our side is huge point of difference, especially in]the ] conditions potentially we are going to get, having real pace in your side is a real advantage.
" We'll have to wait and see what the side's compositions are," he said," but it's really exciting for the future that those two are working together and hoping to get them firing at the same time."
