Warren Deutrom, Cricket Ireland CEO, said the interview is a move towards Ireland becoming a "fit-for-purpose Full Member"
Graeme West, the current Cricket West Indies ( CWI ) high-performance manager, is set to take over as director of high performance at Cricket Ireland ( CI).
In his stay with CWI that started in 2012, West worked closely with fresh talent from across the West Indies, and in 2016 was coach of the West Indies team that lifted the Under-19 World Cup. After working with the U-19 and ' A ' teams, his present position as high-performance director included the setting up of faculty programmes and building a share of coaches. He is expected to have a similar report in Ireland, starting next month.
Before joining CWI, West spent five years at the Middlesex club. That, he worked with Ireland tournaments Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, Andrew Poynter and Stuart Poynter. West has never played any top-flight cricket, but holds a Level 4 ECB training qualification.
As the organization expands and strengthens, I'm thrilled to be a part of Cricket Ireland," West said in a speech. I look forward to putting my knowledge and beliefs to the prosperity of talent and expertise that has been assembled as we continue to advance Ireland's status as a main cricketing nation." The Strategic Plan for 2024-27 is very fascinating."
Warren Deutrom, the chief executive at CI, said the interview was a move towards Ireland becoming a "fit-for-purpose Full Member".
The report, action, and encounter that Graeme possesses are precisely what we were looking for when we set out to create and hire for the position, Deutrom said. We all knew that a candidate had to have leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the ability to serve as both a mentor and manager in order to succeed in this new position. In Graeme, we believe we have found that prospect.
" As an institution, we are going through a process of reviewing and evolving our businesses to assure we are fit-for-purpose as a Full Member in a rapidly changing environment. One of the corporate decisions we made was to recognize the level and scope of our labor has outgrown our pre-Full Member structures."
The older men's team had a busy few days away, with a white-ball visit of the UAE to perform South Africa later this month. The top women's team is set to sponsor England for three Wickets and two Wickets starting Saturday.
