The relationship with Kenya dates up far beyond 2000. Brijesh Patel, the express team's director at the time, made arrangements for the express team to travel to Kenya for a number of limited-overs matches. Ganesh played seven games therefore, in Nairobi and Mombasa, and had four three-wicket tows, including a 6 for 31 against a Kenya Cricket Association XI team.
" We played some games that … that day I performed well", Ganesh said. " I'm at ease working here because I know the circumstances." Kenya Cricket is being quite useful, and I hope to do what I have been assigned".
Following his pensions, Ganesh dabbled in politics before turning to cricket training. He has worked with Goa and Manipur in the local circuit, and as a coach at the KSCA college, and even been a part of the agency's cricket advisory council.
In his novel work, Ganesh may be assisted by past Kenya tournaments Lameck Onyango and Joseph Angara.
Kenya, after an emerging power in earth cricket, highlighted by the semi-final look at the 2003 World Cup ( in southwestern Africa ), have been on a downward spiral since, off-field issues- including reports of corruption and the threat of a players ' strike in 2010- the main reason. They had earned ICC Associate standing in 1981, and International position in 1996, but despite playing five subsequent ODI World Cups, away to 2007, they lost International standing in 2014 after finishing second in the World Cup finals. When they reached the World Cup semi-final in 2003, they were coached by another Indian, Sandeep Patil.
