Delhi Capitals and Ricky Ponting parted way.

The former American captain had served as the group's interim head coach for seven months.

Ricky Ponting will no longer coach the Delhi Capitals, bringing his seven-year connection with the company to an end before the big auction away of IPL 2025. The masters reportedly decided to move on and look for a new head coach as DC continued to achieve the desired results.

Ponting took over as DC's mind coach in 2018, when the team was called Delhi Daredevils, and has been part of their past seven Tournament conditions. They finished last in the league in his first year as coach but finally qualified for the finals in 2019, 2020 and 2021. In 2020, DC made the IPL playoffs for the first time, where they came runners-up to Mumbai Indians. Nevertheless, they did not qualify for the finals in any of the past three decades and finished fifth in IPL 2024, winning and losing seven games each in the winter.

Sourav Ganguly, the chairman of cricket for the rest of the DC, Pravin Amre, James Hopes, the assistant coach for ball, and Biju George, the pitching coach, make up the remaining coaching staff.
