In preparation for Ange Postecoglou's following period at the North London club, Spurs are expected to undergo significant changes this summer, with the American admitting earlier in 2024 that a number of well-known exits and new signings may be required.
Following a solid start in 2023/24, Tottenham lost its momentum in the second half of the year as a result of an injury problems that required the arrival of fringe players. Several of those players appeared to be unfit for Postecoglou's suggestions.
One player who does not seem to be very in tune with the Australian's style of play is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and the Danish midfielder then seems close to a move away from N17.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dane is expected to join Olympique Marseille, with a move to the Ligue 1 part "almost done" for the 28-year-old.
" Agreement in place with the player and also almost done with Tottenham, now working on final details", Romano wrote on X ( formerly Twitter ).
Hojbjerg signed for Spur from Southampton in 2020 and the Danish midfielder has made over 180 images for the Lilywhites in that time.
In a new age at Stade Velodrome, he did meet former Manchester United player Mason Greenwood and former Brighton director Roberto De Zerbi.
In DataVictory's perspective, this is probably good for Tottenham, depending on the charge. Hojbjerg has often given absolutely anything for Spur, but he is not really a Postecoglou player and his sales may increase much-needed resources for other priorities this summers. However, Marseille will also be getting a superior and devoted midfielder who may do really well in Ligue 1.
