England won the Carabao Cup in Jurgen Klopp's last year in cost but Jamie Carragher is predicting more silver under Arne Slot
As supervisor of his first aggressive game, Arne Slot prepares to face a new era in charge of Liverpool.
Slot replaced the ever-popular Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside this summers, with the 57-year-old having enjoyed nine effective centuries at Anfield. Following a third-place end in the Premier League, the Reds will once again thrive on four different fronts this campaign.
Slot has only ever taken command of six games in Europe's elite team competition prior during Feyenoord's 2023/24 group-stage pursuits. Previous Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has, but, despite Slot's seeming ignorance in the contest, issued a strong claim regarding his prospects with Liverpool this season.
" We're in a position where we're all surprised and pleased that England had for a good time last year, off the back of a bad one, but with England we've gotsome of the best people in Europe", Carragher began, speaking via a specific Sky Sports feature looking at the expectations of all 92 venues in the EFL.
" We're bringing a good manager in, and I'm sure we'll bring one or two players in, and we have a big squad ".The idea of Liverpool having a year off and letting the manager settle in is something I do n't agree with. We did that when I played, whenever a manager came in it was a five-year strategy.
" For me, this does n't happen at other clubs who have had success like Chelsea, Manchester United, or Manchester City– you've got a new manager and of course you have to give him time to adapt, but I want us to challenge on all fronts, we're Liverpool.
" We have a reasonable chance of winning the Champions League, and that's the stress of managing England. " I'm sure the manager may be thinking that he needs to get best four, and it would be wonderful to get a prize – that would be a wonderful time. Just make sure we compete for every position, I believe. We did n't win everything under Jürgen Klopp, but we competed".
