John Textor is in talks with Farhad Moshiri over a deal to get Everton
Potential Everton owner John Textor has revealed an attempt to purchase Crystal Palace in a full merger, which could prevent his bid to complete a invasion of the Merseyside team. The American has spoken with Farhad Moshiri and has been granted an exclusive contract by Everton's entrepreneurs, Blue Heaven Holdings.
However, it has emerged that Textor had a plan to purchase Palace prior to investing in Everton. Before any deal with the Toffees can be concluded, he will now look to sell his 44 % stake in the London pub.
Textor's interest in Palace, which he has invested around £150 million in over the past three years, is being" considered two offers," according to The Guardian. He confirmed in a speech that he had made an unrequited entrance into Palace.
It is accurate to say that we made an offer to purchase the remaining Crystal Palace stock for much higher prices than the price of the original purchase. We did it because we had a strong belief that Palace has grown to be a much more important club since 2021, and we had a strong belief that we had the right to offer fair value to our partners regardless of the circumstances.
Our efforts to sell our interests were resumed because it is also true that our present did not lead to a response and that our Palace partners, in our opinion, still want to own our property.
" We have a significant number of parties engaged in our approach, we have received solid indications from qualified buyers, and we believe strongly that we can complete a purchase of our interests to continue moving forward with the next group we hope to assist, embrace and enjoy".
Eagle Football Holdings, a firm reported by Sky News, is set to become a US-listed business in a move that could cause its value to rise to over$ 2 billion. The company, which also has controlling stakes in French club Lyon, Brazilian team Botafogo, RW Molenbeek in Belgium and FC Florida, is targeting investment of around$ 500m.
