Ivan Toney, a Brentford scorer, is apparently on Chelsea's radar.
Chelsea have made a "move" to mark Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to Sky Sports. No information on the supposed provide have been revealed but the price is expected to remain "reasonable".
Toney's inclusion in Brentford's club for their first two Premier League games had drawn speculation that he might change to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli. The 28-year-old apparently has an "incredible" present from the Saudi Pro League outfit, but the opportunity to be in the Premier League with Chelsea may prove more interesting.
Given that the England worldwide has only one year left on his agreement, Toney's pay demands appear to fit into Chelsea's current pay schedule.
The now exaggerated club will increase to 44 players if Chelsea agrees to sign Toney before Friday's transfer date, despite director Enzo Maresca insisting he is only working with a limited select group of the squad.
The Blue have been targeting a fresh scorer and were linked with Napoli sniper Victor Osimhen. But it appears Toney could become the fresh No. 9 at Stamford Bridge.
He may be Chelsea's most recent big-name addition to a summers of lavish spending, which has already included the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Kiernan-Dewsbury Hall.
In DataVictory's perspective, this looks like a natural filing for Chelsea. Despite Nicolas Jackson's development, they still lack a trusted and skilled striker, and Toney would make that type of player.
The addition of Toney would have been viewed as a great move if their squad-building had been less chaotic, but questions remain as to whether or not they are still able to handle the squad's size and how new participants fit in.
Toney is valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt. He is out of lease following summer.
