Arsenal are heavy in discussions to signal a superstar on a cut-price offer- saving money abroad
Arsenal have quietly entered the transfer business this summer. That looks like it could change immediately, however, with superior speaks continued for a cut-price purchase.
The Gunners have just added David Raya to their crew so far, triggering the solution in the Brentford goalkeeper's loan deal from next season to signal him completely. Euro 2024 sun, Riccardo Calafiori, is said to be" a matter of time", however.
But while Basque director Mikel Arteta is aiming to spend huge in some places, others may require a little more resourcefulness in the market. Arsenal may be in the market for a singer who will fit the bill with a major Western player.
According to Friday's version of Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, deals are continued for Real Sociedad sun, Mikel Merino. The midfielder just won Euro 2024, and he fits the bill as a respectable choice in the middle of the park given Arsenal's need for a fresh midfielder.
Merino's possession is neat, but the former Newcastle United star can typically be left-footed and provide overlap on the left wing, something Arsenal did n't have enough of last season. As shown against Germany at the Euros, he is an excellent header of the game – improving Arteta's team's capacity from set-pieces– and he's a great battle winner, also.
Merino has a launch section of €60 million. It's very unlikely, however, that his companies, Real Sociedad, may hold out for that sum, given that he's a free agent next time.
In DataVictory's opinion, this makes Merino an opportunistic bargain. There is a need for another prime-age midfielder to play alongside Declan Rice because Thomas Partey is incredibly unreliable and Jorginho is getting older.
Arsenal may be able to strike a bargain for anywhere between £25 and 30 million. This would allow them to spend more money on other things, including attacking football, according to Mikel Arteta, who claimed that his team's title was squandered last year.
Merino is worth €50m, as per Transfermarkt. His contract expires in 2025.
