England white-ball captain says he is "working hard to be 100 % suit"
After missing the first three games for Manchester Originals, Josh Buttler has been declared out of the Hundred with a leg injuries.
Buttler, who has been backed to remain as England's white-ball captain by managing director Rob Key, took a little break from the sport after the T20 World Cup and is understood to have sustained the injuries while preparing for the Hundred. An original test was ambiguous, raising hopes he may be available towards the close of the opposition, but his departure was confirmed on Saturday.
After Matthew Mott lost his job as England's white-ball coach, Key made it known earlier this week that Buttler may continue to lead the team, with Marcus Trescothick taking over that position for a while during the set against Australia. At this stage, he appears likely to be fit in period for the first T20I on September 11.
Buttler wrote on his Instagram account," Gutted to be missing the Hundred this time." " The Manchester Originals wish them the best of luck the rest of the plan." Working hard to be 100 % meet asap]as soon as possible ]".
Buttler has suffered a number of ankle injury in recent years, including a burden that temporarily threatened his eligibility for England's seven T20Is against Pakistan and recently threatened his eligibility for the T20 World Cup 2022.
In Buttler's presence, The Copies were the men's Hundred's finalist in the previous two editions, but they have never won. Phil Salt, his entry partner, has deputised as captain but has managed just 23 works in three innings, and their bowling line-up has looked notably short at the start of the year.
Simon Katich, the Originals ' coach, had first lined up Keaton Jennings, Lancashire's team captain, as a replacement but the move stalled amid uncertainty over Buttler's position, and Jennings has since signed for London Spirit. The Classics are yet to confirm a novel alternative ahead of Sunday's match against North Compressors.
