Although the aim of the Adelaide Strikers is to win a hat-trick of names, the playing field appears to be fairly level between the teams.
The eighth year of the WBBL is about to begin, hot off the shoes of a significant Women's T20 World Cup. What's fresh this time? When is the competition starting? What are the teams? We have you covered.
When does it taking place?
A triple header of the WBBL's matches will take place on Sunday when Adelaide Oval hosts back-to-back sports. Before Melbourne Renegades takes on Sydney Sixers, reigning champion Adelaide Strikers, who are aiming for a hat-trick of names. In the following game, Perth Scorchers takes on the Melbourne Stars at WACA.
The typical season wraps up on November 24 before a playoffs year draws to a close on December 1.
What is the game structure?
To keep up with the BBL and fit into a growing children's cricket calendar, the WBBL has been reduced to 40 matches and playoffs this season. Each club will perform 10 games- along from 14 past season- during the normal season.
The three-game championships format used since 2021 remains in place with the bottom four teams from the standard time to count.
The team that runs best after the typical period will host the last. The third and fourth placed team will meet in the Knock on November 27 with the success to go and experience the team that accomplished following on the rope two days later for a place in the final.
The third-placed team will host the knockout last in a change from when the second-ranked team held both removal games on consecutive times.

There's a bit of a squeeze at the start and finish. The India and New Zealand players will emerge later due to their continued International series next England, and some South Africa players, did lose the closing stages, including finals, due to their diplomatic series.

What other aspects of the time are there?
There will be a third judge for the first time in all games, and there will be more games using the whole DRS. In all, 33 of the 43 matches may have DRS while for the 10 games without it the Screen judge will be able to act on series decisions such as stumpings and work outs.
There will also be an pitches timer in operation for the tournament to picture the BBL with 73 minutes available to get ready to bowl the earliest ball of the 20th over, then a fielding penalty is implemented which requires one more fielder inside the circle.
Who are the players to watch?
Phoebe Litchfield: Foreshadowing what may lie ahead in national colours, the 21-year-old has been named Sydney Thunder captain for the upcoming WBBL season. She will be the youngest full-time captain in WBBL history. It's been a rapid rise for Litchfield, who made her Thunder debut aged 16 but went up a level last season making 309 runs at a strike-rate of 130.37. There was a feeling that her prodigious batting talents were wasted down the order at the T20 World Cup, where she was mostly used at No. 6. The left-handed Litchfield, the nation's most creative and dynamic batter, will be the star of the future for Australian cricket, though. She's primed for a major WBBL in her captaincy debut.
Annabel Sutherland: Much like Litchfield, Sutherland probably should have batted higher up the order during the T20 World Cup. Also like Litchfield, she has been named captain of Melbourne Stars. Sutherland entering at No. raised eyebrows. 8 especially after her Player-of-the-Tournament display in the Hundred for Northern Superchargers, where she scored 212 runs at a strike rate of 137.66 batting in the top four. She should play a similar role for the Melbourne Stars, and she'll have a significant impact once she's deployed. After their World Cup disappointment, Australia may transition and build their team around Sutherland's brilliant allround skills.
Amelia Kerr: It's been quite the whirlwind for Kerr. She was Player-of-the-World Cup after inspiring New Zealand to a drought-breaking title. Kerr also gained notoriety for her role in her team's emotional rendition of a Maori ballad, which featured her guitar skills. With Kerr fronting for Sydney Sixers this season after moving from Brisbane Heat, there wo n't be much time for a moment. The hiring of Kerr may just help the Powerhouse Sixers regain title contention despite their unexpectedly missing finals last year.
Deandra Dottin: Back in the WBBL, Dottin arrives in stupendous form after a brilliant T20 World Cup. She led West Indies to a semi-final run after reversing her international retirement and striking a series of powerful blows. No other batter in the tournament had more than three sixes, despite Doniz ' incredible strike-rate of 162.16. After finishing last season in last place, the Melbourne Renegades are desperate for a spark. She was chosen as the platinum pick. Dottin, who also played with fire during the World Cup, could be the catalyst for a Renegades revival.
