Tim David ' working really hard' on his legspin

He said," I started playing legspin in traps about nine months before, and they came out really well."

The rapid bowlers were dominant in the T20 World Cup 2024 opener when a lot of cricket was played in the USA. Today, with the present moving fully to the West Indies, flip is more likely to be the strong force, and Tim David is preparing for that: with pitcher, and with game.

Ahead of Australia's second Super Eight game, against Bangladesh in Antigua, David, a large- hitting finisher and part- time offspinner by trade, said he has been trying out legspin over the past several months, hoping to give his side another option if they want it.

It merely gives you match-up choices. I started bowling legspin in baskets about nine months before, and they came out definitely well", David, who is yet to find a chance to bowl at this World Cup, said. But I've been working really hard on it. And to be honest... I actually enjoy ball. More enjoyable is the sport than simply playing 20 innings on the industry.

Australia's front spinners, Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa, have been working with David on his ball. " It's been really good to bowl with Ash, ]and ] bowl with Zamps when they're around in the nets, ]and ] rub ideas off them", David said. " There's ]also] bowling coaches, and it's really good to get different ideas from people. But again, it's about what works for me and]about ] finding my own method".

They are afraid of it being a test by flip because Australia is a group of Bangladesh, India, and Afghanistan for the Super Eight. Bangladesh's fresh poster child, legspinner Rishad Hossain, could represent a particular problem since Australia have not seen little of him, but David said they will never back down.

" I suppose that's the nature of the World Cup, is n't it? You play every team once", David said. You do n't get a lot of these guys to look at them like you might get a team twice if you play in the final. I do n't think anyone in our team will have played against him]Rishad]. So we're going to get him on".

Over the past few weeks, I've been practicing a bit with roll. Time before a match or couple of days before game]though], it's not that large of a strain. You are aware of this when you are trying to make changes too much in the final step.

In order to prepare for all this, David has been pitting against roll in the baskets, but it's not fair much time to consider it at this point because the game is so near. Over the past few weeks, I've been practicing a bit with spin. Time before a game or couple of days before game]though], it's not that great of a stress", he said. You are aware that in that last stage, you ca n't change too much. You only get sense good]in the nets ], ticking a couple of boxes, having fun at education. That's the most important thing for me]so close to the sport ]".

The direction of the wind at the surface will be a particular focus for him on game day. " Yeah, the wind's really important. You hit the ball into the wind, ]and ] it goes 50 metres shorter, you get one downwind, ]and ] you ca n't stop it. I think the other night in St. Lucia, if you hit the ball wind, it went out of the stadium", David said.

" But yeah, that all comes into thing when you're out in the center, you're weighing up challenges, weighing up what the best option is for taking ends over, and I guess … if you can sum it up quicker with your knowledge, you have an idea of what the chance is like if you have to take it on. You can feel]the wind ] out there. It's pretty strong in the Caribbean. Some islands are windier than others".
