Spinner is stand-out title in 15-player crew for event in Malaysia in January-February
Tilly Corteen-Coleman, the 17-year-old spin who made a powerful impact in this year's Women's Hundred, has been named in a 15-player club for the Women's Under-19 World Cup, which is due to take place in Malaysia early next month.
Corteen-Coleman was nevertheless 16 when she made an instant effect on her Hundred album for Southwestern Brave in July, catching Australia's Meg Lanning off her own ball for a significant girl innings. Domestically, she even impressed for South East Stars, claiming 5 for 19 against North Diamond in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, including four innings in five balloons, before helping her team reach the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
Davina Perrin is also included, having been a part of the England squad that lost to India in the annual Under-19 tournament in South Africa in January 2023. A captain will be announced as soon as possible.
Sixteen teams will function in the 41-match function, across 15 days of opposition from January 18 to February 2, 2025, including the hosts Malaysia who will be making their lady game appearance, since did Samoa.
England have been drawn in Group B, alongside Ireland, Pakistan and USA, with all their group-stage matches set to take place in Johor.
Chris Guest, who was last month appointed as Performance Lead for the children's Under-19 set-up, oversaw that 2023 battle as head coach, and looked forward to guiding another group of young people through their lady global event.
" What excites me most about working with the under-19 time group is the continuous cycle of fresh talent and new groups coming through", Guest said. " We've named a squad which features some players who have been involved at this age group before and some who have n't.
Our information to these people is to accept the challenge, grow, and like the trip because this World Cup is a part of their journey, not the end or the beginning. Naturally we want to perform properly but the program is about developing these people in the future and for the long-term.
After representing the U19s in the first version of this World Cup in 2023, Seren Smale, Charis Pavely, and Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Hannah Baker, Seren Smale, and Charis Pavely, it was really interesting for this class and demonstrates how significant this game can be for a person's development.
Guest will be joined by two assistant mentors, Dan Helesfay and Beth Morgan, the former flour who played a vital role in England's two World Cup wins in 2009, across the 50- and 20-over formats respectively. Helesfay is an assistant coach at South East Stars and Welsh Fire, while Morgan is currently employed by Southern Vipers as a local talent boss.

I, along with my colleagues, are beholden to the local teams for the advancement work they continue to put in because the quality of the group highlights the work of each of their top and academy counterparts.
We hope that each individual learns a lot from the knowledge they are about to acquire and uses it to advance as a man and player.

Five non-travelling reserves have also been selected. The reserves wo n't travel, but they will play a key role throughout the preparation process and provide emergency assistance when needed:
