Suryakumar Yadav is set to be appointed India's fresh T20I captain away of Hardik Pandya, the former vice-captain of the area, for the forthcoming visit of Sri Lanka. Hardik had suffered an ankle injuries during the 50-over World Cup at home next October-November and was out of action until the start of IPL 2024, when he returned to direct Mumbai. He returned for national work only at the T20 World Cup. In reality, Hardik has featured in only 46 of the 79 T20Is India have played since the start of 2022.
