India's T20I captain expected the Gwalior pitch for the first T20I to become beneficial to run-scoring
Suryakumar Yadav, the T20I captain of India, is aware of the potential effect that Mayank Yadav can have with his express speed, but he insists it is crucial to "manage him well."
Mayank's 155kph speed during the IPL 2024 was so popular that it made all swoon. He won the Player-of-the-Match honor in his first two games for the Lucknow Super Giants, but he soon lost because of an abdominal injury. Since then, Suryakumar has n't played any cricket, but he has since stated that he is back in good shape.
Before the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior, Suryakumar declared," He certainly has the X element- it was obvious when he played company cricket." " He has that more speed. I did n't face him in the nets; our gross plan was such that anyone else faced him. However, I've seen his ability and the impact he can have on the team. From that point of view, I feel he is a good contrast to the Indian team and I am hoping he will do well.
" It's important to maintain him well because of the amount of cricket being played. Somebody is playing for their condition also. There was the Duleep Trophy late. So it is important to give proper attention and the BCCI is doing that. "
The Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium will host its second international match on Sunday. In truth, the venue has never hosted any home cricket either. The conditions also have a surprising factor.
Suryakumar Yadav had different opinions, despite Towhid Hridoy's prediction that the pitch would be" slow and low" and there would be few possibilities for a high-scoring activity.
" The pitch looks great," he said. " We practised on the heart innings, just two innings ahead. We practiced for three days straight, but we did n't find it to be that slow and low. So it [the match pitch ] should not be much different.
" For T20 cricket, these are great innings. There will be great competition [between the bat and ball ] but at the same moment it looks nice [for run-scoring]. The rest we will get to hear tomorrow.
" Yes, it's a new earth but having practised these for three nights, we know what the problems are, how the pitch is, how the field is, what the weather issue is like, whether the mist settles in or not. We'll want to continue our form from the previous T20I set. And if everyone does their job, you will get the desired effects. "
Until recently, India had the trouble of their pitchers no chipping in with the game in white-ball cricket. But that seems to be changing then, with India's T20I crew including a plethora of allrounders and part-time ball options.
" It's great if your bowlers is plate an through or two," Suryakumar said. " I think there is hardly anyone in this squad who does n't bowl. That gives you more ball options on the ground. As you saw in Sri Lanka, Riyan [Parag] bowled four wickets. If anyone says he is bowl in the stress scenario, then why not. "
