The ICC's code of conduct forbids "abuse of cricket equipment or garments, surface equipment or accessories and fixtures during an international game," and Tim Southee has received an official rebuke for smashing a hand-sanitizer machine.

This occurred on June 12 at the Tarouba T20 World Cup 2024 game between the West Indies and New Zealand. Southee smashed the bottle on his way back to the dressing room after being denied by Alzarri Joseph for a first-ball duck in New Zealand's chase's 18th over. It was his first offense in a 24-month time, and he received a formal apology for his troubles and a demoralizing point added to his administrative record.

To be clear, a player who earns four or more demerit points within a 24-month period is automatically banned from one Test, two OD Is, or two T20Is, regardless of what comes first. A person's administrative record is kept on the player's foregoing for two years after receiving the demotions, which is followed by their expungement.

Southee or New Zealand lost by 13 runs for their second straight defeat, which has n't been a happy day for them overall. With Group C qualifying for the Super Eight stage and three victories for West Indies and Afghanistan, New Zealand had a rare ICC event where they did n't advance.

Their strategy is n't across, though. They also have activities against Uganda and Papua New Guinea to occur, but wins it is just pull them to second place in the group.

Southee returned 2 for 21 in that match, his first at the game after he sat out the opening lost to Afghanistan.
