The 2024 Women's T20 World Cup, starting October 3 in the UAE, will be the first ICC event to have the Smart Replay System. The tech was originally used in the Hundred and IPL 2024.

" A minimum of 28 cams will be present at each game," according to the plan, which will be supplemented by a number of logical and physical enhancements. The Decision Review System ( DRS ) will also be available at all matches, with a Hawk-eye Smart Replay System in place that enables the TV umpire to instantly review synchronized multi-angle footage for accurate decision-making", the ICC stated in a release.

The TV judge may receive input directly from two Hawk-Eye providers who will be seated in the same room as him and receive images that have been captured by Hawk-Eye's eight high-speed cams across the ground under the Smart Replay System. The TV broadcast chairman, who used to be a pipe between the third judge and the Hawk-Eye users until then, will no longer get involved under this program. This also allows the TV judge to speak to more photos than they originally had exposure to, including split-screen pictures.

In case of a will recommendation under the Smart Replay System, the Television umpire may question the Hawk-Eye providers for split-screen photos. The TV judge will not request the UltraEdge ( to check if it was a caught behind ), but will instead continue to examine the side-on replay for the will in case there is a discernible difference when the ball passes pitcher. If the TV umpire does n't see a clear gap between bat and ball, only then he will refer to UltraEdge.

For stumpings, the new program will show the Television umpire tri-vision- largely footage from side-on cameras as well as from front-on in a single frame. The front-on lens perspective is critical because it gives an accurate portrait of pulls being removed. Recently the presenter may show the side-on perspective from each part along with images from Stump Cam. But Stump Cam records the activity at a lower speed of approximately 50 frames per second, as opposed to the Hawk-Eye cameras which history at around 300 frames per second, meaning it will now be more appropriate film for the umpires to base their decision on.

Like it was at the T20 World Cup last year, this tournament will also have an all-female panel of umpires and match officials.
