This will be the Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter's second stint at the SA group
Birmingham Capital have signed Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz for SA20 2025. Urbaz and Jonathan Trott, who helped Afghanistan reach their first World Cup semi-final earlier this year, will return. More late, Trott was announced as Capitals ' fresh head coach, taking over from Graham Ford who had left the position last month.
At 22, Gurbaz is now a T20 globetrotter and is already in motion for Bangla Tigers Mississauga in the World T20 Canada, but this will be his second stint at the SA20. But, he has already been part of the Capitals ' brand in the ILT20- Dubai- in 2023-24, scoring 146 operates in eight innings at an average of 18.25 and strike price of 155.31. Gurbaz's T20I shape is also encouraging: he was the best run-getter in the 2024 T20 World Cup, with 281 operates in eight innings at an average of 35.12 and strike price of 124.33.
Gurbaz may join the likes of Wayne Parnell, Will Jacks, Rilee Rossouw, Jimmy Neesham and Anrich Nortje, who were among Capital ' retentions for the upcoming season, and England dough Ollie Pope, who is another fresh filing.
