Rohit: ' You want your best players to play all sports, but that's not achievable'

With 10 Exams to be played in 15 months, India have "laid out some programs" to handle the task of strong bowlers

India are coming off a break of more than a month without any cricket-" We are starting after a long time actually", the captain Rohit Sharma said- but they are also knowledgeable of the strain that their schedule over the next few months you place on their players, especially their strong bowlers.

India kicks off its second of 10 Test matches against Bangladesh on Thursday, and they already have plans in place to protect players like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who might need to prepare for a lot of work when they travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from November through January.

According to Rohit," We have laid out some ideas for how we are going to handle these batsmen." It all depends, however, on how much work they have put in these sports. But yeah, we may observe that. We've accomplished that fairly also, in my opinion. Yet when we played against England]at apartment, before this year], we managed to get Bumrah one Test match off. Siraj did not lose one Test match.

" So it all depends on how the body feels at that particular moment, what the]strength and fitness ] is, and what the physios feel about them, when is the appropriate time to give them a break from the activity, and then take the call."

India cover up the two-Test set against Bangladesh on October 1 and had a couple of weeks off from red-ball cricket before they face New Zealand over three activities that get them into early November. Then they will keep for Australia where they will execute five Testing in eight weeks.

" You want your best people to play all the games, but that's not possible because there is so much cricket that happens," Rohit said". It is not only Test cricket, there is T20 cricket happening ]against Bangladesh and South Africa ] in the middle of the Test series as well. But you ]have ] got to understand anything, and then see what is best for the team and then maintain your batsmen around it."

Left-armer Yash Dayal joining the team for the Bangladesh line, which has also made an effort to increase the fast-bowling share. There are several others pushing their case to make the national team with appearances in private cricket. Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini, Vidwath Kaverappa, Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj were all involved in the season-opening Duleep Trophy earlier this month, and Rohit was pleased with what he saw from those games.

" We have got a bunch of batsmen who are there for us, "he said". The Duleep Trophy also featured some intriguing aspirations. I am not too worried about the kind of batsmen that are waiting in the wings for us."

Gautam Gambhir takes charge of the Test team for the first time since being appointed the new India mind coach. In the lead up to the Bangladesh line, he and his associate Abhishek Nayar have been running a training station in Chennai. They were with the limited-overs team in Sri Lanka in August.

" The team is new, but I know both Gautam Gambhir and Abhishek Nayar," Rohit said". I have played quite a bit of cricket against]bowling coach ] Morne Morkel, we've played some strong cricket against each other. I've also played, maybe a couple of games, against]assistant coach ] Ryan]ten Doeschate], but the two of us have n't spoken as much before. Given how quickly he immediately began to understand the team, from what I saw him in Sri Lanka, I believe he has a sincere and understanding character.

" As for Gambhir and Nayar, like I said, I know them well. Sri Lanka was the first series]with them in charge], and now they are going to play their second set with the team. Everyone has their own fashion. Rahul]Dravid ] bhai, Vikram Rathour, ]and ] Paras Mhambrey- they had a different way of running the team ,]while ] these guys will have a different style.

" So it's crucial for you to change. Thus far, there have been no problems or issues as a player. Like I said, if there is knowledge between both]coaches and players], that's the most important thing. And we have a nice knowing."

India does not interpret their home games as a form of overseas planning for the difficulties they may encounter.

" Appearance, at the end of the day, you are playing for your state," Rohit said". Therefore, nothing like a dress training takes place here. Every game we play is significant because of the stakes that are present. ] In the] World Test Championship, however the board is very wide open, and you want to win every game. So it does n't matter where we play in two months ' time. We want to get around. We want to get this Test match."

In order to have the best possible planning, they arrived in Chennai a whole week before the start of the game.

" We assembled here on the 12th, and we've had a good time spending hours on the field, ]and ] getting everything together. But yeah, it is hard. But see, today people are but experienced, they managed themselves very well. And people who have not played a lot of Test cricket, certainly went on to enjoy the Duleep Trophy, which was great.

" So in terms of preparation, ]and ] in terms of readiness, I feel we are quite ready for this game and what lies ahead of us. So it was a nice little training that we had before this Test match. We should have used that moment, and I believe we did very well using this little camp we had in Chennai.
