The New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter may be available for the entire Barrel
Melbourne Crusaders have signed New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert on two-year offer as a pre-draft BBL filing.
Seifert, 29, may have total presence across those two months as Crusaders look to improve on next month's eighth place finish. His BBL deal means he will miss at least part of the Super Smash, New Zealand's domestic T20 tournament, and wo n't be in contention for the white-ball series against Pakistan over Christmas and New Year.
Seifert has participated in T20 teams all over the world and participated in three Wickets and 61 T20Is for New Zealand. Ultimately in the style he statistics 27.43 with a strike-rate of 130.12 including three decades. Next month he finished as the leading run-scorer in the Lanka Premier League with 400 at 57.14 and a strike-rate of 135.13.
He looks likely to join Josh Brown, who recently joined Renegades, and Jake Fraser-McGurk, who also could make a strong starting lineup in place of Quinton de Kock and Jordan Cox, who were both signed from abroad next year.
" I'm thrilled to be here for the next two seasons, I'll be able to enjoy the environment and get to know the club on that deeper level which does n't often happen in franchise cricket so I'm excited to call myself a Gade for the next couple of seasons at least", Seifert said.
" That top three spot would be outstanding and if Cam] White ] feels like I'm the man to take the gloves I'll be ready for that too. I'm also prepared to fit in and enjoy whatever part Whitey and the Crusaders require of me.
We get a strong and talented batter plus an organized international keeper and regular Blackcaps program, according to Renegades common manager James Rosengarten, who is also looking forward to welcoming us into the club.
The beauty of Tim's availability is that it will be very useful for elite players abroad this BBL season, and it will be great for our club to plug in him while keeping our valued Platinum pick.
The BBL review will take place on September 1. Crusaders have get figures 2, 10, 23 and 26.
