Morne Morkel is the most popular candidate to be India's fresh bowling coach, according to information obtained by ESPNcricinfo.
Abhishek Nayar, a former India international, and Ryan ten Doeschate, a former Dutch international, will serve as assistant coaches for India's future Sri Lanka white-ball tour. After previously serving as his assistant coaches for Kolkata Knight Riders, the couple will return with newly appointed India brain coach Gautam Gambhir.
Previous South Africa quickly bowling Morne Morkel has been contacted to be India's fresh ball coach, according to ESPNcricinfo. Gambhir and Muller had mentored each other at the SA20's Super Giants in Durban and Lucknow.
Vinay Kumar, a past India and Karnataka bowler, has also been chosen for the position of bowling coach, but Morkel is reportedly the frontrunner.
The new training set-up's first task will be a white-ball journey of Sri Lanka, comprising three Wickets and three T20Is, which begins on July 27.
Nayar, 40, played three Wickets for India and won several Ranji Trophy names with Mumbai in his first-class occupation, which spanned over 100 games. Dinesh Karthik was taught and helped him make an international return by Nayar even when he was an effective player. More recently, unknown spin Varun Chakravarthy heaped praise on Nayar after KKR won their initial Tournament title in ten months. Nayar has also worked as the head coach of Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League ( CPL).
As for ten Doeschate, he is already with Los Angeles Knight Riders in the USA's Major League Cricket as an aide to head coach Phil Simmons. He even brings with him the experience of having been a batting coach at Kent.
