Due to a tear in his bowling hand's index finger, Mujeeb also missed the entire IPL 2024.
Due to a relapse of the hand injuries that prevented him from playing in the IPL 2024, Mujeeb Ur Rahman will no longer compete in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Due to a tear in his bowling hand's score finger, Mujeeb did not play in Afghanistan's opening match of the World Cup against Uganda.
He has been replaced in Afghanistan's club by Hazratullah Zazai, the entry flour. The ICC confirmed on Friday evening that their event complex committee had approved the substitute, following Afghanistan's triumph over Papua New Guinea.
Noor Ahmad, who had played in Afghanistan's previous two games, was a successor for Mujeeb. Noor bowled one wicketless over in their win over New Zealand but took 1 for 14 in his four innings on Thursday evening, trapping PNG's best- scoring Kiplin Doriga lbw with a googly.
" He's going to be a big part for us going forward, as these wickets continue to wear", Jonathan Trott, Afghanistan's coach, said of Noor. " It's always nice to have the option of him to come into the area, or the remaining- arm rewrite of Nangeyalia Kharote, who may come into the side- he did really well in the past ]series ] against Ireland- and obviously]Mohammad ] Nabi, who can dish roll as well".
Zazai, the remaining- hands opening batter, is never a of- for- like replacement for Mujeeb but did boost Afghanistan's batting options. He has the second-highest overall rating in a men's T20I despite not playing a T20I since February but did compete in the last two T20 World Cups.
Afghanistan sealed their position in the Super Eight level by beating PNG and experience West Indies in their last team game on Monday in St Lucia.
