Ex-England captain says "timing no right" to acquire head coach part
After their semi-final defeat at the T20 World Cup final month, Eoin Morgan has absolutely refuted information that he might take Matthew Mott as England people's white ball coach.
Morgan appeared on the Hundred for Sky Sports on Tuesday, but he later admitted the position was just" debate." " This information is really information to me", he said. It's obvious that a coach is criticized, and there is a lot of speculating about his coming, but only time will tell.
Mott, who is half through a four-year deal, won a T20 World Cup just six weeks after his interview, but is under investigation after England's deficiencies in the last two global competitions. Both Mott and Jos Buttler came under pressure after England won three out of nine matches at the 50-over World Cup final month, two of which came after their removal.
At the T20 World Cup, they reached the semi-finals but were thrashed by India in Guyana, and just won again in their four games against Test-playing criticism. Rob Key, England's handling producer, said he would examine that tournament "in the next few days" after their removal and that method is now live.
The Times reported that Mott is likely to abandon his position and that Key was sounding out potential prospects. Morgan, who earlier this month supported Mott and Buttler to proceed, is one of them. He added on Tuesday that his young family and radio job have not motivated him to pursue the position.
" I've been asked a lot]in the media ] over the past couple of months about the function, and if I would consider it on", Morgan said. " My response has just been that the schedule for everything in my life at the moment is not right. Yes, I want to coach down the line. But I have a fresh community, and I spend a lot more time at home and watching cricket doing this]commentary]. I'm definitely loving what I'm doing".
However, Buttler is expected to lose the Hundred this year after undergoing images on Monday, having injured his leg while preparing for the event. He has not yet been ruled out clearly but ESPNcricinfo understands Manchester Originals have been lining up possible alternatives.
" He's our captain, a big player for us at the top of the purchase, England captain as well", Simon Katich, their coach, told Sky. " If he does happen to be ruled out, it's a great loss for our team. Fingers crossed, he's alright … if he is n't, we've got a history of giving young players an opportunity".
