Middlesex's issues on the field have grown since the newly established cricket regulator charged the organization with violating ECB Directive 3.3, which states that there is" do that is incorrect or may be detrimental to the interests of cricket," following allegations of unacceptable behavior against their chief financial officer, Illa Sharma.

Although the employee in question is not being named by the Regulator, Middlesex themselves acknowledged Sharma's conduct was under investigation in a recent statement after details of the allegations were published by the Telegraph last week.

According to the report, the Regulator had interrogated about 30 current and former Middlesex employees in connection with the cost, which centers on a particular complaint from two years ago. Previous team members made allegations of mental health issues, while others also spoke out about a "bullying tradition."

Following an "investigation into an argument of wrongdoing by an individual of the club," the cricket regulation confirmed in a speech that the cost had been levelled. The concerned institution wo n't be identified by the Cricket Regulator.

" ECB Directive 3.3 problems do, acts or omissions which are poor, or which may be prejudiced to the interests of cricket, or which may take the ECB or the game of cricket into contempt.

" The cost may be considered in due course by the independent Cricket Discipline Commission. No additional comment may be made until the event is concluded".

Middlesex has been in a tough few months due to a long-running dispute with its original CEO, Richard Goatley, and was last year put in specific measures by the ECB following a £500, 000 deficit in the team's accounts and a authorized loss of £952, 000 for the year 2021- 22. The saga follows this.
