Mark Wood has an elbow wound that will keep him out the rest of the time.

Mark Wood, England's fastest bowling, may lose the upcoming Check tour of Pakistan and New Zealand, after being ruled out for the rest of the time due to a bone-stress wound to his right neck.

Wood was withdrawn from the continuous Sri Lanka set as a caution, after suffering a right knee stress while ball during the first Test at Old Trafford. He later went to what he had hoped would be a regular hip test after experiencing joint pain and admitted in an Instagram blog that he had received some "pretty dirt information."

" During what I thought was regular search on a recently difficult neck, I was shocked to learn I've got some spine stress in my proper elbow", Wood wrote.

As a result, he may lose England's last six Testing of the year, three each against Pakistan in October and New Zealand in December.

He will continue to work strongly with the ECB health team in the meantime, with the aim of returning to whole health by early 2025, in period for England's white-ball tour of India and the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, which is scheduled to begin in February 2025.

Wood's wonder at being diagnosed comes after some of his fastest ball in global competition. During the Trent Bridge Test against West Indies in July, he hit a top rate of 97.1mph in an exhilarating achievement that culminated in a broken arm for Kevin Sinclair, and had his captain, Ben Stokes, predicting he would tear the 100mph before his career is done.

Though he went fairly under-rewarded in that achievement, he closed out the line with 5 for 40 at Edgbaston, his second five-wicket pull in a home Test. Nevertheless, he bowled only 18.2 innings across two innings against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford, before he was withdrawn from the activity.

In his Instagram post, Wood wrote that" after the small groin injury at Emirates Old Trafford, I and the health team decided it was a good time to have my hip examined because it was a little annoyed." " I'd put that down to the ordinary niggles every strong bowling gets and which I was playing through.

" I'm specially surprised because I've been playing Test cricket and kept my frequencies up.

" I work incredibly hard on my health, putting in extra work with mentors and physios making this even more upsetting. Nonetheless, I guess this is,' component of being a strong bowler', like Stokesy says.

" I will lose the rest of the month needing time to rest and build up, fully expecting to get up and firing in early 2025. I have been down this path before and will set in all the hard feet behind the scenes. I am very happy to represent my land and there is no better feeling. See you for some missiles in 2025!"

In Wood's presence, Olly Stone was recalled for next year's Lord's Test, his second Test since undergoing back operation three years ago, with Josh Hull, the 20-year-old left-arm bowler, making his debut in the ongoing second Test at The Oval.
