The "mystery" surrounding India's No. 3 has been unopened. The solution to the riddle that Amol Muzumdar, the head coach, had been tight-lipped about is now set to become Harmanpreet Kaur.

" Absolutely. Before India's game opener against New Zealand on Friday, Muzumdar said," We already had decided back in India, in the tents that happened before we started the World Cup. Not just the warm-up game." " We had a wonderful camp in Bangalore. We had decided that itself. These pre-World Cup matches made that a clear statement for us.

" Is it a shock? No. If you can imagine, you can go through the tallies and you will discover it."

It's a place that has seen a number of inhabitants late. And it's one that was borne out of need, mainly because of Yastika Bhatia, who seemed the pioneer until April, got injured during the Bangladesh journey.

Yastika is a member of the UAE crew after recovering from a knee injury. But it appears today that she has to wait for her options. At No., Harmanpreet batted. 3 in both of India's warm-ups, with values of 10 and 1. But that, it seems, was illusory in the big scheme of things.

It appears that Harmanpreet's motivation for choosing to pursue this path is to maximize her potential once her authority game is established. Harmanpreet has generally found herself playing catch up at the place she normally bats, at four or five, with her 94.09 strike rate over 84 T20 wickets since 2022 providing the most convincing evidence.

Since Muzumdar took over, there have been four people who've been tried it. Among them, Dayalan Hemalatha's was the trial that lasted the longest. But in seven game, she managed only 139 works, 41 of which came in one pitches. Other dimly tried-outs included Uma Chetry and Sajeevan Sajana.

Muzumdar might have turned to Jemimah Rodrigues, but her flexibility puts her in the top position. 4 or 5. The line of thinking is that Rodrigues, a reach player. may get gaps more easily with scatter out fields.

The trial size is smaller, but Rodrigues strikes at 143.81 in 10 innings at No. 5, a noticeable progress to the 110.19 at No. 3, albeit across across 59 pitches. Perhaps so, Rodrigues herself is working towards" striking from game one" as the next stage in her development as a T20 flour.

WPL provided a solid foundation for people ' acquisition.

Muzumdar praised India's strength while also highlighting the variety of functions that important back-up players were given. Like Sajana, who enhanced her standing as an X-factor player, being sent on the' A' journey to Australia to" tick off specific crates" as part of her growth.

I believe it was a team work, not just from the Indian team or the American contingent but also from the NCA," Muzumdar." We've communicated directly with the Australian coaches who were on the India A journey. ] We've ] had constant chats, feedback were given post the tour as well.

" I think we're trying to formalise a lot of things. Apart from the Indian contingent as I said, the India A]setup ] is also very important for us so that we get a lot of players, and the bench strength is stronger. We've seen the benefits.

What WPL is, some of the people who have made the Indian club for the World Cup are the result. Of course, not undermining the first-class]domestic ] cricketers back home. However, WPL has provided a solid foundation for finding people.

Shreyanka Patil is one of the people whose reputation has improved as a result of the WPL. The allrounder was the highest wicket-taker during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's move to the subject earlier this year, including a brilliant 4 for 12 in the last.

Shreyanka is only 12 T20Is older but has already been identified as a vital death bowling capable of creating corners, like her fast-bowling team-mates, from around the trees. She has also demonstrated a desire to plate in every stage of the game due to her varying speed.

Radha Yadav, who was out in the cold for more than a year after the preceding WPL event in South Africa, is another player who has made her progress faster. As has S Asha, the legspinner, another RCB discover, who made her debut this April in Bangladesh.

The WPL has also contributed to elevated fitness levels, through close monitoring and off-season camps where physios have continued to monitor players and have been in sync with the NCA through the Athlete Monitoring System ( AMS ) designed to give markers over a player's workload and map performances.

The outcome of all this, aside from major knowledge, is elevated pitching levels, something Muzumdar underlined as top concern when he took over last December.

" We've worked upon it," Muzumdar said". Attempted to work flawlessly inpidually, second in terms of the level as far as pitching is concerned. And then in health we've paid attention to each inpidual to get their health levels to the next level.

" But, I think we've put in that endeavor. The work has been there. I think you'll surely see the benefits".
