After time one of their abandonment against Northamptonshire, the club is still disappointed by the negative effects to reputation and earnings.
The Cricket Regulator has spared Gloucestershire consequence for an alleged violation of pitch rules after their Vitality County Championship Division Two match against Northamptonshire was called off on time one, with officials concerned over player security on a cross pitch.
The device, which took position in Bristol at the end of August, was abandoned after only 65. In the final period, Chris Watts and Sue Redfern stopped the game after 1 over. Northamptonshire pitchers Ricardo Vasconcelos and Rob Keogh were both forced to retire hurt after being struck on the side by Gloucestershire fast Ajeet Singh Dale. Vasconcelos suffered a bone to his hand.
Northamptonshire were awarded 11 items, while Gloucestershire received nothing. Because there was a near threat to the pitchers, the game was canceled. It would be ridiculous to remain, the judges ' statement read later that day read.
Following a complete investigation by The Regulator- which involved interviewing the match officials, captains, coaches, and groundstaff, viewing life stream footage, and relying on specialist technical reports- the administrative body decided no charges would be brought against the county at this time. However, they warned Gloucestershire that they must maintain the scenario does not come again, acknowledging the judges made the right contact regarding player happiness.
A speech released on Wednesday read:" The Cricket Regulator was satisfied, as a result of those requests, that the jump was considerably unequal and harmful to the people. The match officers ' decision to abandon the game in the presented circumstances is so fully supported by the Cricket Regulator.
The Cricket Regulator is satisfied, but, that Gloucestershire CCC has shown that they sought and prepared the highest possible level of pitch for the match they were staging. As a result, no charges will be brought on this occasion.
" The Cricket Regulator does yet hope Gloucestershire CCC to take steps to prevent problems of this character arising in the future. The pitch consultant who investigated the pitch at Bristol did offer to give aid to Gloucestershire CCC moving forward. "
In response, Gloucestershire, while accepting of the The Regulator's selection, and the proposal to liaise with the ECB on pitch planning, reiterated their sorrow at the match officials ' decision to abandon the match. As well as a social and economic hit, the lack of points even scuppered their advertising push.
" The Club has been considerably punished by the inability to compete for positions in the match, suffering social damage and loss of game profits in the process. Prior to the match, we also had a chance of advancing to Division One.
" As with the planning of all pitches at the Seat Unique Stadium, Gloucestershire's Groundstaff do so at all periods with the intention of creating a good balance between bat and ball, irrespective of the opposition. As the Regulator points out in its results, the Groundstaff'prepared the pitch as they had done formerly' for a County Championship match against Middlesex earlier in the season, played on the same combination pitch which was rated as'good'.
The Regulator then states that the pitch made for Northamptonshire was of the same caliber as the batters that had previously been made as "good." In mild of these remarks, Gloucestershire looks forward to a speech with the Regulation on what more could have been done by the Club to, as the Regulator suggests ,'ensure that the pitch performed better than it did'.
