Anderson thinks his playing time are still ahead of him and is open to exploring T20 options.
James Anderson has floated the possibility of an unusual foray into company cricket after his foreign pensions, a century after his most recent T20 look. Even though Anderson turned 42 two weeks ago, he still believes he still has" something to sell" as a spinner and has stated that it is" not off the table" to extend his playing career.
Following his last Test match at Lord's next month, Anderson has been working with England's bowlers in a training power and will remain in that position in their future series against Sri Lanka. However, he does take a step back during their winter travels of Pakistan and New Zealand, which would open up opportunities for travel.
According to Anderson," I still feel like there is something there that I do n't know what that is yet." " I'm very receptive to anything at the moment. As the year goes on, stuff will get clearer. There's two Test tours in the winter and I'm not sure I'll be on them in this]coaching ] role.
There are plenty of things to think about, and I just need to lay down and talk to people about it. I watch the Hundred and see the game swinging around in the first 20 balloons, and I think,' I can do that. I can still do that.' I do n't know if that is a viable option, to maybe see if I could do a job in white-ball cricket? I've not played cricket in French.
Anderson has never played any white-ball cricket since 2019 and his last T20 match was the 2014 NatWest Blast finalized for Lancashire. He also leads England's ODI wicket-taking streak, and he still believes he still has the necessary knowledge, having bowled at England's bowlers in the traps before the second and third Tests against West Indies.
The way my body feels best now and my mind is both making me think about this subject really, Anderson conceded, but bowling is still a significant opportunity for me. From a skills point of view, the way Test cricket's gone… I do n't think that'd be an issue. But I do n't know how much people would want a 42-year-old bowler in their team."
Anderson even intends to" give up" to Lancashire, the state where he developed as a young spinner". I've played more Tests than I have first-class game for Lancs, "he said". Whenever I've gone up, I've tried my very best and loved it. However, there might be a situation where I feel like I could return something to the team.
" I'm actually quite excited about what's next because I do n't know what that is, and that excites me. I've also got plenty of choices, whether it is the training part of it, the internet part of it, or whether it's also playing in some capacity for a few more times. I also feel like that's hardly off the table, with the way that my body feels and the way that I've been bowling in recent years".
Anderson said that his body "at no step has started to feel like it's 42" and that he wants to make use of his skill to bowl quickly while he still is. " There will be a time when I ca n't turn my arm over at all and I ca n't bowl at 50mph, never mind 80, so while I can do that, I want to keep doing it", he said. If I play for Burnley in five years, I'll also pee around on the area.
