Broward County, where the games are scheduled, is in a unique flash flood emergency due to a tropical disruption.
The weather does have a large part to play at the T20 World Cup 2024 over the coming weeks in Florida, where three Group A games are scheduled over the next three weeks. A unique flash flood emergency has been caused by a tropical disturbance in much of southern Florida, including in Broward County, where the match takes place in Lauderhill.
The second World Cup game at the stadium, Nepal vs. Sri Lanka, washed away, and three more games, including those between the USA, Canada, India, and Pakistan, could also be affected by the forecast's heavy rains.
A "flood watch" is in effect throughout southern Florida through Friday night, according to the US National Weather Service ( NWS). The games are scheduled to start at 10:30 am regional time.
" Big to extreme rainfall over southeastern Florida perhaps continue to bring areas of beam and industrial flooding, with locally significant industrial flooding feasible, at times into this weekend", the NWS posted on X.

The rest of the Group A teams, including the USA, Canada, Ireland, and Pakistan, did battle it out for the another spot while India and India both defeated the USA on Wednesday to claim the title.
As things stand, all four groups can also statistically count.
Pakistan, the 2022 T20 World Cup finalists, have only won one of their three matches thus far, but they could advance to the next round if they defeat Ireland and drop to the USA. If either of these is washed away, then USA, who have two wins, may qualify. Canada ( one win from three ) and Ireland ( no wins from two ) are lower on the table.
The disaster on June 11 affected Group D while also, leaving Sri Lanka and Nepal on the verge of eradication.
There are no supply days for group-stage matches, and a fit must be completed in at least five overs. There are reserve days for the first semi-final and the last, but there is only one day between that match and the last.
