Only once before has a spinner bowled four lady innings in a female's T20I, Saad Bin Zafar of Canada, but never at the World Cup
New Zealand quickly bowling Lockie Ferguson has become the next bowler in T20Is and the first at a female's T20 World Cup to pitcher four girl innings in a charm.
On Monday, he finished with wonderful figures of 4- 4- 0- 3 against Papua New Guinea in New Zealand's next group- level fit in the T20 World Cup 2024. It's even New Zealand's next fit in the game, as they were knocked out following loss to Afghanistan and West Indies.
Saad Bin Zafar, a Canadian bowling, finished with a 4- 4- 0- 2 score in the T20 World Cup Americas Region Qualifier match against Panama in Coolidge in 2021, making it the only another player to have done it.
After New Zealand chose to area in Tarouba due to a delay caused by the rain, Ferguson had PNG commander Assad Vala caught off the first ball he bowled, taking the lead. He kept the new flour, Sese Bau, silent for the rest of the above, and came back in the sixth over to do the same, bowling six lines to Bau.
He returned to dish the 12th over and struck on the next ball, pinning Charles Amini in front for 17 with a length ball that stayed lower- it was given no over, but was confirmed to be hitting the stumps after a review. Ferguson finally got his third and final innings off the next game of his last over, the 14th of the pitches, getting Chad Soper to advantage one on to his trees for 1. PNG got two goes off that over but those were calf- techniques.
" Obviously a strong innings to bat on, so lovely from my point of view to get on a batsman like that", Ferguson, the Player of the Match, said on the official spread after the activity. " There was some swing, which was nice today too".
The match started after a spell of rain, following which New Zealand restricted PNG to 78 in 19.4 overs.
