Ishan Kishan's returning to the first-class wrap is set to be delayed, he's an unlikely starting for the Duleep Trophy opening.

Following his two appearances for Jharkhand, his second multi-day game in more than a year, earlier this month at the pre-season Buchi Babu Invitational in Tamil Nadu, Kishan, who was named in the Shreyas Iyer-led India D, is thought to have experienced a hamstring wrinkle.

No support has been named as still and KS Bharat is the only other bowler in the India D club. They may open their game against the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India C, on September 5, in Anantapur.

Kishan had never joined the club but on match-eve. A decision on whether to remove him is likely to be taken depending on the severity of Kishan's damage.

However, India A will be without strong bowler Prasidh Krishna, who continues to recuperate from a hamstring injuries. Prasaidh has since started bowling full-time following a four-month recovery, but National Cricket Academy coaches want to be cautious because he has been dealing with issues with his injuries for the past two seasons.

Prasidh last played for India on the tour of South Africa in December-January, and he is believed to be nearing whole match exercise. It's possible he could already play a part during the early sessions of the Duleep Trophy in the lead-up to the Ranji Trophy.

The presence of Kishan and Prasidh adds to the growing list of top Indian players who have received various tournament bans. Earlier this month, Suryakumar Yadav's return to red-ball cricket had to be put on hold after he bruised his hands, even during the Buchi Babu game, playing for Mumbai in Coimbatore.

Prior to that, the fast-bowling piece of Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik had been pulled out because of mosquito fever, while Ravindra Jadeja was withdrawn from the India B club. Navdeep Saini was named Siraj's successor in India B, and Gourav Yadav, the Puducherry fast bowling, was called in to remove Umran for India C.

The first round of the Duleep Trophy may be played in Anantapur and Bengaluru from September 5. Only in this sport did some of the best Check players from India, including Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav, play before dispersing to prepare for the start of India's Test campaign against Bangladesh in Chennai on September 19 play.

In the run-up to the line, the Indian team is likely to meet in Chennai on September 12 for a brief preliminary station.
