Isabel Divine will move over as New Zealand's T20I captain at the end of the future T20 World Cup in the UAE but may remain in charge of the ODI area.

Devine, who has won 56 T20Is for New Zealand, will continue playing the style because she felt it was appropriate to lower some of her load and help prepare for the next generation of leaders. Next year will India host the following Women's ODI World Cup.

" I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to captain the White Ferns in both platforms", Devine said. " Captainship comes with an extra task that, while enjoyable to take on, can also be challenging at times.

I can concentrate more of my strength on my playing position and nurturing the future leaders by stepping away from the T20 captain.

" I'm not ready to give up ODI skipper only however," she added". I'll not remain here long, so I believe stepping aside from the role of captaining one format gives the rest of the leaders time to recover.

Soph, the head coach, said," We're truly thankful for the command she brings to this class both on and off the industry."

" She's one of the most skilled White Ferns always and her authority and knowledge of the game has been so important as we have introduced many young people into the team over the past two decades.

" I know the decision was n't effortless for Soph, but I completely support it and realize that she's still going to be a popular president in the team."

Before New Zealand's three-match T20I set in Australia second quarter, which will serve as preparation for the World Cup, Devine is currently recovering from a foot injury. New Zealand did name their club on September 10.

With New Zealand's following line in the style set to begin in March when they face Sri Lanka in a T20I match, a replacement for Devine has not yet been decided.
