T20s will have at the Olympics ' second model, which will be in Los Angeles in 2028
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting feels that cricket's return to the Olympics in Los Angeles in four years ' time]LA28 ] will be beneficial to the game.

Cricket is returning to the Games after 128 times, with the only day it featured formerly being in 1900, with two groups- Great Britain and France- participating, and the previous winning gold.
" The thing about the Olympic Games, it's not]about ] the host nation. It's about the market that it opens up", Ponting said. The Olympic Games ' popularity, which is reported by so many people all over the world, really opens up entirely new audiences for our game, which appears to be expanding on a daily basis anyhow. It can only be a real good thing for the activity".
Ponting said equipment and certification pathways would still need to be adequately figured out but, with its addition, the sport is moving in the right direction total. " Facilities and infrastructure and those things are going to be key, and how many]participating ] teams they actually decide on. Because of the limited number of teams in discussion, I believe certification will be important in order to be considered for entry to the Olympic Games.
" So all those are things to think about ,]but ] I'm really excited about where the show's headed and the development of different businesses that we're seeing emerge."
Cricket at LA28 may be played in the T20 style, with both men's and children's team set to have.
The game had previously been in the news in the United States earlier this year when the nation hosted the West Indies ' people's T20 World Cup.
