Mason Crane, the legspinner who played a second Test for England, has signed a three-year agreement with Glamorgan. He is a solution of the Hampshire youth program and has spent his entire professional career under contract with them, but has enjoyed a successful charm in Cardiff this year after moving on a season-long payment.

Crane, 27, is Glamorgan's leading wicket-taker in both the County Championship ( 24 at 42.87 ) and the T20 Blast ( 17 at 16.94 ) this season, and said he has "loved every minute" of his time at the club. " I'm very grateful for the opportunity to make this move permanent", Crane said. " I'm really excited for the next book and the years to come".

Grant Bradburn, Glamorgan's mind coach, said Crane had been" an excellent improvement" this year and that his success has been "testament to the society our people have welcomed him into". Bradburn said:" We feel very lucky to have the value of Mason here at the club and we look forward to building more achievements with him as part of our Glamorgan home".

Crane made his professional debut for Hampshire as a teen, making Kumar Sangakkara his second target. He quickly gained notoriety, playing two T20Is for England against South Africa in 2017, and joining the Test club for an Ashes tour after that year as the next spin behind Moeen Ali.

He was handed an unforeseen debut at the age of 20 at the SCG and took a second innings for the cost of 193 works. Since then, he has struggled for regular opportunities due to injury and loss of form- particularly in first-class cricket- though he remained an important part of the sides that won the Royal London Cup ( 2018 ) and T20 Blast ( 2022 ).

" I want to thank everyone at Hampshire for a wonderful trip over the years," Crane said. " We have created some memories together that will continue long, but now is the time for me to start a new book. Thank you also to the fans for all the help and I wish everyone associated with the team both the best for the future".
