BCCI AG M: Finding Jay Shah's replacement as secretary on members ' minds

Members of the BCCI's 93rd Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) in Bengaluru on Sunday requested incumbent secretary Jay Shah to expedite the search for his replacement to ensure the transition is as smoothly as possible. Shah is expected to move down from his blog in the last week of November to take over as president of the ICC for a three-year period from December 1.

Although the AGM's plan did not specify a fresh secretary's name, it has been discovered that the attendees had a discussion about the succession program.

A representative from the state association who was present at the AGM told PTI that "it was a regular request to keep all due processes in place at the earliest so that there will be clarity for us."

As things stand, Rohan Jaitley, chairman of Delhi and District Cricket Association, BCCI manager Ashish Shelar, joint-secretary Devajit Saikia and Gujarat Cricket Association director Anil Patel are in the combination to achieve Shah.

The main focus stage of the AGM was the election of India's two associates to enter ICC meetings. Arun Dhumal, the president of the IPL, and Shah, the BCCI's member on the ICC Board, are both currently in charge of the Chief Executives ' Committee.

The AGM assigned the members of the general brain the task of recommending two names for the positions as soon as possible.

The former will serve as the team's president until at least IPL 2025, while Arun Dhumal and Avishek Dalmiya were likewise elected as public body staff.

Former Andhra cricketer V Chamundeswarnath was chosen as the Indian Cricketers Association ( ICA ) player representative and inducted into the IPL GC.

The AGM even ratified the annual expenditure for the 2024-25 period, and the members unanimously resolved to keep BCCI's legal reputation as a nation, an item which was actually not on the agenda of the meeting. More, it was agreed by the people that the BCCI's tournaments, including the IPL, should not be merged into a business.
