Following a disastrous T20 World Cup campaign, a second departure is expected in a year.

Babar Azam, the country's captain, resigned in less than a month due to a desire to reduce his task and concentrate on his bat. Babar claimed in a lengthy article on X that he had informed the PCB of his choice to "prioritize my performance, like my batting, and spend quality time with my family" next month.

The Pakistan men's cricket team's captain has announced his resignation, according to a section of the speech. It's been a pleasure to lead this team, but I need to move over and concentrate on my playing position. Captaincy has been a satisfying experience, but it's added a considerable task.

By stepping down, I'll get quality moving forward and put more of my strength into improving my game and enhancing my personal development. I'm thankful for your unwavering support and belief in me. I'm so impressed with your excitement. I'm pleased with what we've accomplished as a team, and I'm eager to keep making a player-driven contribution. Thank you for your love and aid."

Babar resigns about six weeks after being appointed captain of the Pakistani white-ball teams. After Pakistan's disappointing performance at the ODI World Cup in India late last month, Babar took over as captain for all types for the first time in T20I and ODI teams once more only four months later. Shaheen Afridi, the T20I captain in the time, was sacked after just one T20I line.

Though there were some features in all three formats in Babar's second stint as captain, including multi-format set wins over South Africa, an ODI set victory over Australia, and runs to the semi-final and last of two successive T20 World Cups, his second tenure was altogether less content. Pakistan won only six of 13 T20Is during this time, including a fatal T20 World Cup campaign, where overcomes against USA and India saw them knocked out at the first obstacle. While formally appointed captain of both T20I and ODI forms, he did not get to result in any 50-over game during this stay.

Babar's withdrawal from the PCB has not caused any change. Pakistan's following white-ball project comes second month, when they travel to Australia for three T20Is and three Overdose Is.
