Babar, Afridi, Naseem again as Board announce teams for tour of Australia, Zimbabwe

Rizwan, a frontrunner to direct Pakistan in white-ball cricket, is included in both ODI teams, while being rested from the T20Is against Zimbabwe

Following month's ODI and T20I series against Australia will feature Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Babar Azam all making their national team debuts. The pair, who were omitted from Pakistan's next two Testing against England, make a profit in both white-ball forms. None of them, nevertheless, will have in the ODI or T20I line in Zimbabwe that soon follow.

No captain was announced in PCB's speech. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi would make the captain's announcement at a press event in Lahore after today, according to the statement. Mohammad Rizwan, a pioneer for the work in both forms, is rested from the Zimbabwe T20Is. Salman Ali Agha, another candidate, is in all four white-ball teams for the absent tour.

Shadab Khan has been dropped, left-arm wristspinner Sufiyan Muqeem added to both T20I flying parties, while offspin-bowling allrounder Qasim Akram will go to Zimbabwe for the T20Is.

Pakistan Shaheens bowler Mohammad Haris has also fallen down the pecking purchase, failing to make any of the battalions, with bowler Haseebullah Khan, who played a single T20I in New Zealand in January, included in all four. His team-mate at Peshawar Zalmi Saim Ayub, who generally made his name as a T20 best order power-hitter, does not have in either of the T20I series after a sustained muscular run in the format, but has made the cut for both ODI squads.

The ODI set against Australia, set to begin on 4 November, is Pakistan's second ODI cricket since the World Cup in India a month earlier. It kickstarts a hectic time in the 50-over structure in the build-up to the Champions Trophy in February, the second ICC function Pakistan are scheduled to network since the 1996 World Cup. Just before the Champions Trophy kicks off, Australia and Zimbabwe play white-ball matches in both styles against South Africa and a three-game set against New Zealand and South Africa in Multan.
