The former Guy Lavender will step down as the club's fresh chief executive at Cheltenham Racecourse, according to Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

The intermediate period, which includes significant change in key roles, is underway for MCC, the owners of Lord's and the guardians of the game's laws. Mark Nicholas will become the team's president in October, replacing Bruce Carnegie-Brown, while Mervyn King may change Nicholas as leader. Rob Lynch assumed the position of chairman of cricket and businesses earlier this year.

In MCC's speech confirming his exit, Carnegie-Brown described Lavender as an "outstanding CEO". The team said his major accomplishments included leading MCC through the Covid crisis, continuing the restoration of Lord's, ensuring robust financial outcomes and delivering big matches, including the men's 50-over World Cup final in 2019.

Additionally, he has been heavily involved in discussions with the ECB and club members regarding the future of the Hundred, with MCC expected to receive a 51 % stake in London Spirit later this year. Nicholas recently suggested that some IPL franchises have registered their interests, with the ECB selling the remaining 49 % properly.

" It has been an enormous honour and privilege to have been CEO of this great club", Lavender said. I'm confident that MCC may continue to grow and prosper. The club's determined, attentive, and dedicated staff members support the account and make MCC the fantastic club it is.

The team has already begun the selection process for a replacement, which will be led by its nominations commission in the coming months of this year, according to MCC. Lavender did" continue to fulfill his duties at MCC," according to the team, in order to allow for a smooth move before his exit.
