As the defending champions of the T20 World Cup put back on course for Super Eight certification, England's captain Jose Buttler praised his players for avoiding the sounds and focusing on the task of defeating Oman in style.

England needed a grand total of 99 deliveries to conquer Oman in the first of two must- get matches in three days, with Buttler himself striking 24 certainly out from eight deliveries to hunt down a victory target of 48 in all 3.1 overs.

England improved their net run-rate from -1. 8 to + 3.08, putting them away of Scotland's 2. 16; this means they will advance to Group B at the expense of the Scots if there are no more problems or problems in the last two games.

Though the rate of England's hunt was a key element in the NRR increase, the suit was set up by a wonderful bowling display, led by Adil Rashid's 4 for 11, with Mark Wood and Jofra Archer both returning the superb figures of 3 for 12.

" I thought the voice was set really well by the batsmen", Buttler said at the article- match seminars. We managed to pick up those first innings, restrain them, and blow them off, so we had a great game in two weeks.

Asked if he had been surprised by the feelings around England's plan, after one washed- out battle against Scotland and a weak screen against Australia in Barbados, Buttler smiled and acknowledged that he'd seen it all before.

" I've been near long enough to know how it works", he told Nasser Hussain, who was conducting the article- meet conversations. " How folks like you make some opinions, so that's okay. That's portion of your work. I do n't mind. We know what's going on in the grooming area. Our team is very confident, and we will have another important suit in store.

Given the rocky jump on offer for the fast bowlers and the sharpened spin that Rashid dished out of his four well executed overs, that match will take place on Saturday in Antigua, which should match England's bowling attack.

" I thought they bowled brilliantly", Buttler said. " ]Reece ] Topley with his height, Jofra Archer with that high release point as well. On that exterior, they were genuinely difficult bowlers. I thought the bowling was excellent.

" I do n't think any of us expected the wicket to probably play like it did, "he added". It looked a really good area. But yeah ,]Rashid ] found spin and obviously you know what a threat he is. He bowled beautifully nicely."

The second two balls in a T20I since Spain versus the Isle of Man in February 2023 saw Phil Salt's salvo of two touchdowns ignite England's run-ahead, which was sealed 17 balls afterwards by Jonny Bairstow's following four in as many balloons.

" Only be ultra- good," Buttler said, when asked what his concept to the batters had been". We've talked before about how important it is to win games, and we need to try to capitalize on any opportunities when we have the possibility. We did that today.

" We can simply concentrate on ourselves. We've got a great game against Namibia and all emphasis today is on that".
