James Anderson's Test job, spanning 188 games over 21 ages, came to an end where it had begun- at Lord's- with a three-for in the next pitches as England routed West Indies by an pitches and 114 runs.

" Clearly this night was very emotional with the two groups lined up and the response from the crowd was quite special", Anderson told Sky Cricket after the activity. " But yeah, I'm still trying to hold them]tears ] back now, but I think I'm just really proud of playing for 20-odd years. ]It ] is an incredible effort, especially for a fast bowler.

" I'm really glad that I've made it this far. Content that I've been fortunate enough to remain injury-free very little throughout my career. And yeah, sing for England. It's the best job in the world, but I've been affluent to be able to do it for a long time."

Anderson's community, including his wife and daughters, who rang the bell at the start of the Test, were with him when he was done.

" Yeah, has been various thoughts, been but up and down. Wake up my female ' bells on day one. Walking out nowadays with both groups lined up repeatedly was very personal. At a press conference after the match, Anderson said," I forgot what I was trying to do with the game. But yeah, it's been amazing. As I said, the effect of masses was remarkable. Right now, I ca n't get my head around it.

" But yeah, it's just been an incredible 20 years. Every time, every great sporting man, there is the home, mother, father, spouse, kids, who allow you to do what you've done for thus long".

If Anderson had hardly dropped a daisy off Gudakesh Motie off his own ball, which would have ended the game, Anderson had taken 704 Test wickets. That number could have been 705.

" I'm still gutted to had dropped that get to be honest", Anderson said. " But yeah, it's been an incredible year. I've been completely blown away by the crowd's response, people standing near the ground, and the young people who are also glad of what they've accomplished.

Anderson has had 109 team-mates in Test cricket since joining the team that also featured the likes of Michael Vaughan and Alec Stewart in his last Test debut.

" I've been fortunate to enjoy with some amazing people", Anderson said. Some of the best cricket players who have ever played the game, but more important, some of my closest friends and fellow teammates.

" And it is a truly unique game. I think no other game creates this sort of environment, these sorts of friends, and part of me is a little bit envious of these lads]who] get to practice that for the next several years. As I said, we've got a fresh team, lots of extraordinary skill, and the advice I'd pass on to them is really like every moment, because it's a wonderful ride."

Anderson was piece of 83 of England's Test wins including the ones that won them an Away Ashes in 2010/11, after a 24-year dryness, and a 2-1 line win in India in 2012- which is the last example of an absent team beating India in India.

The only thing I've been interested in since I joined the England team, winning in Australia, becoming the top site in the world, and contributing to those series, Anderson said," the most special memories of his career" Taking wickets, they're the things that are remembered forever, playing with some of the greats in the game as well. It's just been really really special."

What emotion will he most long for?

" Well, I think just the feeling that we've got now- winning the Test match, "he said". There's no better feeling- everyone's put in the graft this week. I know it looks like we've dominated, but we've had to work really hard for this win, sharing other people's success as well.

" Gus was amazing this week on debut, Jamie Smith on debut as well. Incredible. It's incredible to watch the young men compete for awards and showcase their talent, and then you sit in here after a win to celebrate those kinds of performances together is something I'll undoubtedly miss.

Anderson

And what will he miss the least?

" Feeling like I do now," Anderson said". After the overs I've bowled this week, I feel about 55. I'm going to miss the pains and aches you experience when you wake up. But yeah, I mean, as I said, I feel really fortunate. I've been able to accomplish what I've been doing for a while, and I'm happy I came this far.

Anderson won his final Test against Nottinghamshire in a County Championship game, going 7 for 35.

Asked if he will continue playing for Lancashire, at Old Trafford, from the end named after him, Anderson joked", You let me enjoy me Guinness first ( laughs ).

" I think I've not really thought that far ahead. I'll spend the summer with these guys and stay there for the rest. As much as I can, try to help out the bowling team, and we'll see how things turn out eventually. I'm not looked that far ahead".
