The bowler picked up nine innings in the match to improve his situation as India's second seam-bowling option
Two balls across two innings defined Akash Deep's amazing vacation in the Duleep Trophy game, where he returned a match drag of 9 for 116 for India A against India B.

So I wanted to do something that I had n't done against him before. "
He has learned from Mohammed Shami about how to plan his rejections. His messages have been trying to get batters to guess where the ball will move from the same place. Shami's set-up of Ben Stokes at last week's World Cup is probably a good example.
" When you bowl to a left-hander from around the wicket, the ball moves naturally towards the shine," Akash explained. " I spoke to him [ Shami] about how to get the ball to come back in [with the angle]. I have seen him do that.
He advised me to avoid putting too little effort into bringing it in. He claimed that the ball will immediately appear over time and get a wicket-taking game when it does. Because if it keeps going out and then you are able to bring it back in with the sparkle, it's hard for players. However, he has warned me against putting forth a lot of effort. But as a bowling, if you're able to do it, then pitchers may have a tendency to chase balls aside as effectively. "
This ability to generate lateral movement both ways stood out, as much as Akash's ability to bowl long spells even when at times it felt as if there was n't much happening off the pitch. In both wickets, Akash perfectly sent down 41 innings, which is the most by any bowler in this match. He attributed this to the NCA's recent fitness job.
" My last suitable match was my Test debut in March," he said. " In the IPL, I played just one activity. As a quick spinner, it's difficult to come up [after for a longer stretch]. For a fortnight while I was at the NCA, I practiced a lot of matches with the demands of a first-class match while keeping in mind the situations we may encounter in real life. "
Akash's wonderful Duleep Trophy excursion sets him up well to be in the race for the next seamer's slot for the future home Tests, if Shami continues to remain accessible. Akash said he wanted to stay in the present and hope that this functionality will enable him put to his first Test look against England, particularly with an upcoming test trip to Australia.
