" During the past 12 times", Gabriel said on Instagram on Wednesday," I have dedicated myself to playing international cricket for the West Indies. Playing this precious activity at the highest degree has brought me huge pleasure, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Now, I am announcing my pension from International cricket.

" First, I would like to express my gratitude to God for the various gifts and the possibilities my family and I have received during my period playing for the West Indies. Second, I want to extend my heartfelt owing to Cricket West Indies executives, coaches, and team members. Thoughts cannot sufficiently express how much I appreciate your dedication and assistance over the years. Last but not least, I am glad to my friends and all those who have stood by me and supported me along the way. You have really made my voyage to the best extraordinary.

Gabriel was at his best in Test cricket, where he used his elevation and his power to excellent effect, sometimes even on dead pitches. He holds the fourth-best match-figures for a West Indian- 13 for 121, which he picked up at home against Sri Lanka in June 2018. His ability to generate speed and spin were remarkable enough that West Indies quickly bowling star Courtney Walsh compared him to Patrick Patterson and Ian Bishop. He did n't always use these talents, but by 2017 he had become a regular team member and participated in notable victories like the one against England at Headingley.

With West Indies nine points ahead of Pakistan, Gabriel hit the great reach of his career in Dominica. There were only seven balloons left to draw the Test, and with it, the line. He went for a great trek and got bowled. This was 10 days after he put in a Player-of-the-Match efficiency to support West Indies to a bounce-back success.

Gabriel ran into more trouble in 2019 when he was banned for four Wickets after making an obviously racist remark at Joe Root. He accepted the punishment and apologised for his behavior but did demand, afterward, that the event was blown out of proportion.

Gabriel past represented West Indies in July 2023 but has since been engaged in home cricket, playing for Trinidad and Tobago. Last season, he was part of the Abu Dhabi T10 when also.
